🏳️ Languages

Overview

Minecraft uses language components for text throughout the game, including menu labels, inventory titles, item descriptions and messages. Oraxen lets you override these components through the resource pack.

Configuration

Language overrides are configured in plugins/Oraxen/pack/lang.

  • πŸ“ plugins
    • πŸ“ Oraxen
      • πŸ“ pack
        • πŸ“ lang
          • πŸ“„ global.json
          • πŸ“„ en_us.json
          • πŸ“„ de_de.json
note

Language files must contain valid JSON. Separate entries with commas and use double quotes around both components and values.

Global Overrides

Entries in global.json apply to every language supported by Oraxen.

plugins/Oraxen/pack/lang/global.json
{
"container.inventory": "",
"menu.returnToGame": "Return to the server"
}

container.inventory controls the Inventory text shown inside the player inventory. An empty value hides it.

Language-specific Overrides

Use a locale file such as en_us.json, de_de.json or fr_fr.json when an override should only apply to players using that language.

plugins/Oraxen/pack/lang/de_de.json
{
"menu.returnToGame": "ZurΓΌck zum Server"
}

Oraxen adds the entries from global.json to every locale during pack generation. If the same component is defined in a locale file, the language-specific value takes priority.

info

Locale filenames use Minecraft's language codes. For example, use en_us.json for English (US) and de_de.json for German (Germany).

Language Components

A full list of language components can be found here.

Copy the component you want to change into global.json or a locale file, then replace its value with your own text.

important

Run /oraxen reload pack after editing a language file. Players must receive the regenerated resource pack before the changes appear. They may need to reconnect or re-apply the server resource pack.
