đĒŊ Creating an Elytra
Overviewâ
Elytras & Armor are controlled via the Equippable Component. It requires Minecraft 1.21.2+ and the default CustomArmor.type: COMPONENT setting in settings.yml. Elytras are made out of 2 assets, an "icon" model / texture and a wing texture.
Tutorialâ
Create the Elytra itemâ
Create a new item in the items directory (or edit an existing .yml file).

itemname - The display name shown for the item.
material - The base Minecraft material used for the item.
components - Vanilla item component settings for the item.
max_stack_size - Limits the item to a stack size of 1.
equippable - Makes the item wearable in the chest slot.
slot - The equipment slot used by the item.
Adding the textures / modelsâ
Place your icon at plugins/Oraxen/pack/textures/default/armors/magic_elytra_icon.png.
Place your Elytra texture at plugins/Oraxen/pack/textures/default/armors/magic_elytra.png.
Reload and regenerate packâ
Run /oraxen reload all and then give yourself the item via /oraxen give @s magic_elytra (or get it from /oraxen inv).
Troubleshootingâ
- Missing texture in inventory - check
pack.texturesand icon file path. - Texture in inventory works, but worn Elytra is wrong - check
equippable.modelandmagic_elytra.pngfile path. - No visible changes - reload Oraxen and re-apply the generated resource pack.
