🧩 Creating an Escape Menu Logo

Overview

The pause menu is controlled through language keys in pack/lang. You can replace it with any custom glyph by defining your own and pointing the language key at it.

Tutorial

Disable default asset generation (optional)

Optionally open plugins/Oraxen/settings.yml and disable default asset generation.

  • 📁 plugins
    • 📁 Oraxen
      • 📄 settings.yml
Plugin:
generation:
default_assets: false
note

pack/lang files are extracted from Oraxen's default pack assets, but only when the whole pack/lang folder is missing. Edits to existing files survive pack regeneration. pack/lang/global.json is re-extracted if the file is deleted, so edit it rather than deleting it.

Create the logo glyph

Create a glyph file for your logo, for example plugins/Oraxen/glyphs/logos.yml, and place the texture in pack/textures/glyphs/logo/.

  • 📁 plugins
    • 📁 Oraxen
      • 📁 glyphs
        • 📄 logos.yml
      • 📁 pack
        • 📁 textures
          • 📁 glyphs
            • 📁 logo
              • 📄 esc_logo.png
esc_logo:
texture: glyphs/logo/esc_logo
ascent: 8
height: 8

Point the language key at your glyph

Open plugins/Oraxen/pack/lang/global.json and update the pause menu keys.

  • 📁 plugins
    • 📁 Oraxen
      • 📁 pack
        • 📁 lang
          • 📄 global.json
{
"menu.game": "<glyph:esc_logo>",
"menu.disconnect": "<gray>See you soon!",
"menu.returnToGame": "Back to the server"
}

menu.game controls the logo shown at the top of the pause menu. You can also customise menu.disconnect and menu.returnToGame to match your own branding.

Check locale-specific overrides

If you use locale files such as pack/lang/en_us.json, mirror the same changes there too.

Locale files can override global.json, so if en_us.json still contains the old menu.game value, your custom logo will not appear for players using that locale.

tip

After editing the glyph and language files, run /o reload all and regenerate the resource pack to see the updated pause menu logo in game.
