🌆 Removing Oraxen branding

Overview

Oraxen ships with default language entries in pack/lang that show the Oraxen logo, banner, and a few branded text lines. If you want a cleaner or fully white-label pack, you can replace those entries with your own text or remove them entirely. On a fresh install, those language files are extracted from Oraxen's default pack assets, while the matching glyphs come from the default glyph configs.

Tutorial

tip

You can remove the default "branding" automatically via the /oraxen remove-branding command. It asks you to confirm with /oraxen remove-branding confirm. It also disables the welcome join sound and default asset generation.

Disable default asset generation

Open plugins/Oraxen/settings.yml and disable default asset generation.

  • 📁 plugins
    • 📁 Oraxen
      • 📄 settings.yml
Plugin:
generation:
default_assets: false
note

pack/lang files are extracted from Oraxen's default pack assets, but only when the whole pack/lang folder is missing. Edits to existing files survive pack regeneration. pack/lang/global.json is re-extracted if the file is deleted, so edit it rather than deleting it.

Open the language files

Then open the generated pack language files in your Oraxen data folder.

      • 📁 pack
        • 📁 lang
          • 📄 global.json
          • 📄 en_us.json

global.json applies to all languages, while files like en_us.json can override it for a specific locale.

In practice, edit pack/lang/global.json first, then mirror the same changes in pack/lang/en_us.json if you use the default English locale.

Remove the branded entries

Open pack/lang/global.json and remove or replace the branded strings.

The default file usually contains entries like these.

{
"menu.game": "<glyph:logo>",
"menu.disconnect": "<shift:-256><gray>See you soon!<shift:-142><glyph:menu_banner><shift:-327>",
"menu.returnToGame": "Back to the Oraxen experience",
"resourcePack.server.name": "Vanilla Mod"
}

Replace them with your own text, or clear them if you want no branding at all.

{
"menu.game": "",
"menu.disconnect": "<gray>See you soon!",
"menu.returnToGame": "Back to the server",
"resourcePack.server.name": "Resource Pack"
}

If you prefer to keep a custom welcome screen, you can also replace the glyphs with your own icons instead of deleting the line.

Check language-specific overrides

If you use language files besides global.json, make the same changes there too.

For example, pack/lang/en_us.json can still reintroduce the branding if it keeps the default values. If you disabled default generation, make sure your custom language files still define the entries you want to keep.

info

After editing the files, run /o reload all and regenerate the resource pack so the updated language files are included.
