đ Creating a custom sound
Overviewâ
Custom sounds are configured in sounds.yml. Oraxen reads this file and generates assets/<namespace>/sounds.json.
Use it to add brand new sound events, override existing vanilla sounds, or package longer audio tracks for music discs and other custom content.
Tutorialâ
Open sounds.ymlâ
Go to plugins/Oraxen/sounds.yml.
đ plugins
đ Oraxen
- đ sounds.yml
settings.automatically_generate must stay enabled if you want Oraxen to build sounds.json from this file.
Add a sound entryâ
Each entry in the sounds: list becomes one sound event. Every custom entry needs an id.
sounds:
- id: oraxen:welcome
category: records
sound: welcome.ogg
If no namespace is specified, Minecraft's namespace is used. For example, id: welcome becomes minecraft:welcome.
Point to your audio fileâ
Sound files live in plugins/Oraxen/pack/sounds/. Oraxen then exports them to assets/minecraft/sounds/ in the generated resource pack. Only the generated sounds.json is placed per event namespace. Namespaced sound files belong under plugins/Oraxen/pack/assets/<namespace>/sounds/.
sound: welcome.ogg points to plugins/Oraxen/pack/sounds/welcome.ogg.
sound: music/welcome points to plugins/Oraxen/pack/sounds/music/welcome.ogg.
The .ogg extension is optional.
You can use sounds: instead of sound: to provide multiple audio files for one sound event.
After generation, the sound can be used as oraxen:welcome.
