đĒ Creating a GUI
Overviewâ
You can create custom GUI layouts by using Oraxen glyphs in inventory titles. By shifting a large glyph backwards, you can overlay the vanilla inventory slots with your own custom texture.
Tutorialâ
Create a Glyphâ
First, create a new glyph for your GUI texture. It is recommended to keep your GUI glyphs organized in a separate file, for example plugins/Oraxen/glyphs/guis.yml.

Configure your glyph with an initial ascent and height.
my_custom_gui:
texture: gui/my_menu_texture
ascent: 8
height: 256
texture- The path to your texture file.ascent- Controls the vertical position of the glyph.height- Controls the scale/height of the glyph.
Add to GUI Titleâ
Open your inventory plugin's configuration (e.g., DeluxeMenus) and add the glyph to the menu title.
To make the image act as a background overlay, you usually need to shift the text cursor backwards using a negative shift tag so the image starts at the beginning of the screen.
<white><shift:-8><glyph:my_custom_gui>
The <shift:-8> tag moves the cursor 8 pixels to the left. You will likely need to adjust this value significantly to align the image correctly over the slots.
Adjust Positionâ
Positioning the GUI correctly is mostly trial and error. You will need to tweak the values until the GUI looks perfect.
- Horizontal Alignment - Adjust the
<shift:N>value in the title.- Use negative values to move left.
- Use positive values to move right.
- Vertical Alignment - Adjust the
ascentin the glyph configuration.- Increase
ascentto move the image up. - Decrease
ascentto move the image down.
- Increase
- Scaling - Adjust the
heightin the glyph configuration if the image size is incorrect.
Reload Oraxen (/o reload all) (and your GUI plugin) and reopen the GUI after every change to see the effect of your adjustments.
