đĒ Creating furniture
Overviewâ
Furniture is an Oraxen item with the furniture mechanic. This tutorial creates a simple display-entity furniture item from a model stored in the Oraxen resource pack.
Before following this guide, prepare a model and texture. See Import a Blockbench model for the export process.
Tutorialâ
Create a furniture configuration fileâ
Create plugins/Oraxen/items/furniture.yml, or add the item to an existing file in the same directory.
Add the furniture itemâ
Add the following configuration.
wooden_chair:
itemname: "<gold>Wooden Chair"
material: PAPER
pack:
generate_model: false
model: furniture/wooden_chair
mechanics:
furniture:
type: DISPLAY_ENTITY
barrier: true
hitboxes:
- "0,0,0 0.8,1.0"
rotatable: true
restricted_rotation: VERY_STRICT
pack.model is the path to the model below plugins/Oraxen/pack/models, without .json.
DISPLAY_ENTITY is the recommended furniture type for modern servers. The barrier provides solid collision and interaction. For interaction without a solid barrier, remove barrier: true and use the hitboxes list.
Reload Oraxenâ
Run /oraxen reload all.
Watch the console for configuration or resource-pack errors.
Give and place the furnitureâ
Run /oraxen give <player> wooden_chair.
Reconnect if necessary so the client receives the regenerated resource pack. Place the item and verify its model, texture, collision, and rotation.
Use display_entity_properties to adjust the size or position of a display-entity model.
mechanics:
furniture:
type: DISPLAY_ENTITY
display_entity_properties:
scale:
x: 0.8
y: 0.8
z: 0.8
translation:
x: 0
y: 0.1
z: 0
Use hitboxes for one or more interaction areas, with each entry formatted as <x>,<y>,<z> <width>,<height>. Legacy hitbox configurations are migrated automatically.
Use Blockbench to fix the model's base orientation. scale and translation are intended for small placement adjustments, not for correcting an incorrectly exported model.
